Today She Painted



Today she painted my face with oils
In blues, grays and dark greens
It was the most uncanny likeness of me
That I have ever seen

She painted my face in anger
In love and in joy
She needs to feel these emotions
She treats them as if they were toys

Today she painted my face on canvas
To been shown in the great learning halls
Then later when school is done with them
They'll end up for sale in some mall

There has never been another subject
There will never be another man
It seems her Teacher didn't lie to her
The Teacher really did understand
