Nothing lasts for ever
or at least that's what they say
I always thought we were special
never thought she'd go away
but life took her own her own path
she has swim parties to attend to
I never thought she'd leave me
now what am I supposed to do
The grass is always greener
on the other side they say
I thought she knew it wasn't true
and I thought she'd always stay
but she had things to see and do
said she needed to grow
I guess I knew deep in my heart
that she really just wanted to go
Ya never know what ya got till it's gone
I wonder if she misses me yet
more than a notch in the bed post
she's some one I'll never forget
her lips were made for kissing
she fit in my arms perfectly
now that she's gone I realize
thing just weren't meant to be
A diamond in the rough she called me
I called her a butterfly in a cocoon
she'd like to make love outside
under the light of the moon
we talked about thing that stimulate
the mind and the body
nothing last forever they say
she's no longer with me...
