All Dressed Up With No Place To Go
A Poem by Jim Nasium

Dawns red light
shines real bright
in this rooms window
the now brown grass
has such class
with winter dew aglow

The morning sun
was so much fun
I was just a boy
played all day long
my heart sang a song
such innocents and joy

During mid days heat
I thought I was neat
mother natures only child
I traveled The Andes
did just what I pleased
ran around red eyed wild

Come late afternoon
crazy as a loon
I tried settling down
but it was too late
I knew my fate
at least I got to run around

By evenings sun set
the best one yet
I began to understand
love can be real
and make a man feel
that he is more than man

The street lights glow
across a meadow
I played in as a child
now sitting alone
turned off my phone
wings clipped no longer wild

The night of my time
although it's a crime
has come to me way too fast
where did youth go
I just don't know
but I wish it could have last

Dawns red light
shines real bright
in this rooms window
everything here is old
the stories been told
all dressed up with no place to go...
