Going Insane: In 3 Parts
A Poem by Jim Nasium

Sometimes I feel Him next to me
like an amputee feels a fathom limb
I admit to myself my time has come
I've got to sink or swim

I tell myself "you'll be ok
after all He knows your heart
He's been with you forever it seems
right from the very start"

Too many years spent in neutral
the cob webs are thick and dry
some times I'm ready to give up
especially when I look up at the sky

I wonder exactly what's out there
beyond what mans already knows
I smile and remind myself
about my extreme highs and low

I promise Him I'll do better
then feel that fathom pain
I think I hear Him talking to me
but I might be going insane

II.

Sometimes I feel Him next to me
like an amputee feels a fathom limb
I admit to myself my time has come
the futures looking dim

I know He knows I know Him
and that I love Him too
it's this thing called free will
the body does what the soul don't want to

I try my best never the less
each day is a struggle for me
no matter what comes my way
things will be what things will be

I feel He's close and watching me
there's only one thing to do
after all He's the only one
that I can turn to

He and I talk a lot
like when I'm walking in the rain
I think I hear Him talking back
but I might be going insane

III.

If your in pain and near insane
He could be there for you
ask Him deep in your heart
and simply ask Him to

Set you free from what you see
put aside some spiritual wealth
get on your knees and beg Him please
for happiness and health

He knows your deep dark secrets
accepts you for who you are
His eyes are always looking at you
the twinkle in His eye you see as a star

I sit around wasting time
drawing pictures or writing a story
my body's here but let me make it clear
my spirit is not and searches for His glory

I talk to Him all the time
He helps me wisdom to gain
I think I hear Him talking back
but I might be going insane...
