Things Are As They Should Be
A Poem by Jim Nasium

Inside every dark cloud
there's a silver lining they say
keep your nose to the grind stone
where there's a will there's a way
the early bird gets the worm
ignorance is bliss
Rome wasn't built in a day
life is hit and miss

The grass is always greener
on the other side they say
the big fish eats the little fish
when ever they get in his way
a watched pot never boils
don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today
home is where the heart is
it looks like I'm here to stay

Luck she is a real lady
she used to be my friend
now I fear the worse
things will never be the same again
say what you mean and mean what you say
it's always darkest before the dawn
the new day is full of promise
dew sparkles outside on the lawn

The early morning's quiet
the silence late at night
stuck sitting in this chair
it seems I lost the fight
no light at the end of the tunnel
at least my muse is here with me
I guess I got to admit
things are as they should be...
