I'm Glad I Decided To Go
A Poem by Jim Nasium

A circus like ambiance
in a smoke filled dimly lit room
every one in the place
looked like a freaking cartoon
all the well knows where there
I tried to lay real low
the invitation said I must come
but I didn't even want to go

The main event was already spent
she drank a little too much wine
I was sure it was time to go
but the bell rang for us to dine
we made our way to the dining room
every one there took their seat
they served us salad, bread and cheese
wine, vegetables and meat

Time passed quickly for us that night
with conversation and laughter in the air
some of them were drinking too much
but no one seemed to care
others smoked and then they joked
about how good they felt
me I was just real happy
to get a hot meal under my belt

Didn't know what to do when she came to
and asked me to take her to my place
I told her that I didn't want to leave
but she had such a pretty face
her bed room eyes came as no surprise
when she asked if I was ready to go
I said ok and we went on our way
she never did get to do her show

Later that night by the moon light
we sat on my pool side patio
sipped fine wine and passed the time
then she said "I want you to know
I only went there to be with you
I've wanted you now for so long"
she looked at me and smiled
reached over and grabbed my dong

We made our way to my bedroom
did all the things that lovers like to
got tangled in a lovers knot
the way that lovers do
time slipped by and I guess I
must have drifted off and took a nap
when I awoke she was gone
there was a note taped to my lap

"Give me a call sometime" her note said
"use the number I wrote below
I would like to see you again
and in case you didn't know
I had a really good time last night
sorry but I had to leave
you're a lot of fun to be with
always got a trick up your sleeve"

The party had a circus like ambiance
in a smoke filled dimly lit room
every one there in that place
looked like a freaking cartoon
all the well knows where there
I tried to lay real low
the invitation insisted I come
now I'm glad I decided to go...
