The Tears Of A Clown: 3 Poems Late At Night & The Middle Of The Night & At Dawn A Story Poem by Jim Nasium
The Tears Of A Clown:
Late At Night
Late at night no one can see you
sitting alone in your 3rd floor room
the only sound is you tapping on the keyboard
it's as still and quiet as a tomb
the light from your monitor is all you need
to see a puddle forming on the ground
as you watch your broken heart bleed
and mix with the tears of a clown
The Tears Of A Clown:
The Middle Of The Night
In the middle of the night you jump up in bed
out of breath from a rather painful dream
no one you loved, and thought you could trust
was honest and nothing was as it seemed
pushed aside and left behind for another
it's hard to be happy when you're feeling down
in the middle of the night your bed is all wet
from the endless tears of a clown
The Middle Of The At Night:
At Dawn
Come first light you're already awake
you've got your best clown make up on
sitting outside under a beach umbrella
you find the promise of a new day in dawn
you've no where to go and nothing to do
morning birds singing is a wonderful sound
you hide your face deep in your hands
no one should see the tears of a clown...
