The Market Place; A Friendly Face

In third world towns I have been through
there is always a large Market Place
any thing you want can be found there
and there is always a friendly face

I enjoyed going to these markets
knowing I could get any thing there
any thing from A to Z and back again
and the prices are always fair

papaya, mango and pineapple
avocado, and banana too
prickly pear, oranges and coconuts
bread fruit, ackee, and kalalu

vegetables, eggs, cheese and bun
fresh fish caught earlier the same day
ganja's in the air and friendly girls every where
time at the market just slips away

The Market Place; Way In The Back

Way in the back of a small market place
I have been to many times
all sorts of things go on
many would consider crimes

I've been way back in the market
to a small wooden dark room
got caught in a snow storm for 3 days 1 night
that damn near caused my doom

The ladies in the back room
are always very nice
they're willing to do anything
but only for the right price

I know from my own experience
they can really play the game
way in the back of a small market place
every one knows my name...
