One battle at a time Dear Lord
that's all I ask of you
my spirit battles with my flesh
I don't know what to do
your word tells me you'll never give
more than I can deal with each day
but I think you over estimate me Lord
I can't go on much longer this way...

One battle at a time Dear Lord
is all that I can take
and if you think I'm stronger than that
I'm here to tell you ya made a mistake
why can't you see I'm over whelmed
no income, cancer, and a broken heart
one battle at a time Dear Lord
can't you see I'm falling apart...

One battle at a time Dear Lord
no matter what that battle may be
is how I conquer temptation
it's easy with you to help me
but sometimes I wonder if you're there
since trouble keeps coming my way
one battle at a time Dear Lord
in Jesus name I pray...
