The Truth Of The Matter A Story Poem by Jim Nasium
What the fuck do you expect from me
it was you who caused this misery
you stayed away for way too long
I waited, and I tried to be strong
but deep inside you just want to be
like the women you watch on TV
in Desperate Housewives on Sunday Night
how dare you say all we do is fight...
I thought you loved me, you said you did
but all along you kept the truth hid
did what you wanted with who you wanted to
and you wonder why I can't get excited with you
you've broken my heart, this time for real
did you ever consider how I'd feel
when I finally realized all your chatter
was bullshit, and the truth of the matter
What the hell do you want me to do
I sit here alone; can't stop thinking of you
I look at your photo, read a note you wrote me
recall every day of our wonderful History
can't fight the feeling you cheated and lied
you have no idea how many tears I cried
some times we just know things deep in our heart
the truth of the matter is tearing me apart...
