Dear Lord I've tempted fate
and I do hope it's not too late
maybe we can negotiate?
because Father, I am ready...

I can't take no more stress or strife
I've wasted almost all of my life
got many children but no wife
and Father, I am ready...

I don't want to feel like this no more
want to be the man I was before
but I guess fate evened the score
and Father I am ready...

I'm ready for you to take me home
I'm ready to come back home
I'm ready please take me home
Father I am ready...
