Beach Photos.... Photos by Jim Nasium and google earth
This is where I lived in Negril many years ago, up on Monkey Hill, in the Red Ground District of Negril, way out on the West side of Jamaica. See the red dot, that's my house, and the cave is behind it.

The Negril River runs into the sea, and to the west there are cliffs, for miles, some as high as 30 feet above the sea, If you look you will see the red dot on the bottom center of the photo, well that's where I lived all them years ago, up on Monkey Hill...
You can clearly see how far the cliffs go to the west of the river, and where the beach starts...
Another look at the beach, and my house, marked by the red dot...
And yet another look at the beach, and my house, marked by the red dot...
The beach starts on the north side'a the negril river, and goes for 7 miles, to the next cove and beach. Can you see the little island right where the cove starts, about a half mile out to sea? Thats a very interesting place to visit, or at least was all them years ago when I lived down there... some rather interesting things grew very well there.
This is the West side of the idsland, the side of the island I liked the best...
This should give you an idea of just how many resorts and hotels there are on either side of the river, both on the beach and on the cliffs now'a days. The 3 yellow dots around the name of the hotels shows you were I stayed, during my last visit...
This should give you an idea of just how many resorts and hotels there are JUST on the beach now'a days, and they are even on the other side of the old coast road that is now the coast highway...
This is the seven mile long beach in Negril. This is the very beach I would, once upon a time, not aall that long ago, run on [some times in circles] daily....
Maybe now by looking at these photos
you can see how much it meant to me
to take my son to a place
where I have such a colorful history...
