Things Look Brighter As A Whole
A Poem by Jim Nasium
Most of the time I write pomes
about things I did in the past
poems about love affairs
and romances that didn't last
poems about another life
living in the fast lane
whores, players and thief's
border line insane
I decided to try something different
instead of writing about the past
I'll write about the future
since days go by so fast
I'll write about tomorrow
things I'd like to do
suddenly I feel so hopeful
looking forward to something new
Tomorrow's got to be better
than the way things are today
I mean they can't get worse
and I've one more thing to say
when my tomorrow comes
I'll do the best I can do
to reach the goals I have set
and to stay sober too
I'll get off this medication
my time with it is through
I'll be able to walk again
go back to work like I NEED to
take my miantance level of chemo
like the doctor suggested I do
I'll be busy, productive and content
not sick, miserable and blue
Why put off until tomorrow
what you can do today
gott'a get my ducks in a row
and need to right away
tomorrow things will be better
I can feel that in my soul
suddenly I am so hopeful
things look brighter as a whole....
