Eating Out
A Poem by Jim Nasium
Had nothing in this house to eat
was just as hungry as can be
decided to try a new place
I saw advertised on TV
made my way to the cafe
parked in the parking lot
was lucky to get there early
I got a good parking spot
I went in the local cafe
ordered myself some food
it came with a finger tip in it
I didn't want to be rude
so I asked the guy next to me
is this supposed to be in there
he said "if you don't want it
I'll eat it I don't care"
I went to drink some of my water
but the water was thick and muddy
so I asked the guy next to me
is this the way it's supposed to be
he smiled and looked at me
said "you must be new here"
I handed him my water
he drank it and didn't care
I was still very hungry
but didn't know what to do
when I took a bite of my desert
I found part of a shoe
which made me loose my appetite
so I left the place without paying
I won't be eating out no more
that's all I'm saying....
