About a degree North of the equator
in Colombia's central mountain chain
deep in The Andes Mountains
where it's very easy to go insane
there's a town that not many know of
it's not on any map to this day
but never the less I should confess
it's a most amazing place to stay
One main road in and out of town
with a few shops on either side
a very primitive place to live
the people have a lot of pride
no one is in a hurry
"we'll do it tomorrow" they say
in control of my fate back then
I decided it best to stay
Flowered fields with rivers running through
The Andes Mountains surround the town
nothing at all to worry about
there were no cops around
nice homes made out of bamboo
thatch, tin, plastic and brick
no electricity, or modern connivances
but plenty'a women willing to trick
Small farms around the valley
where cattle roam all day long
mushrooms grew out of the cow shit
at dawn they are fresh and strong
the farmers grew the best of things
fresh fruit, vegetables and herb
the dirt paths paved with potholes
no concrete side walk or curb
The market place daily visit
the early bird gets the best deals
the place is alive before sun up
everyone's honest, no one robs or steals
fresh bread and cheese, eggs and milk
fruit and vegetables grown organically
for sale each day while llamas rest
on the ground just waiting to be free
Long walks to the middle of no where
with early morning dew soaked feet
sitting by the river washing mushrooms
preparing my head for a treat
living the life they dreamt about
they sit in a dark room somewhere
there was no way to get in touch with them
but I didn't even care
About a degree North of the equator
in Colombia's central mountain chain
deep in The Andes Mountains
where they grow coca for caine
there's a town that not many know of
it's not on any map to this day
never the less I should confess
it's a most amazing place to stay...
