Recently I was offered a deal I could not refuse
and so I went ahead and signed a contract
to sell 16 pieces of my GymArt to be used in a
science fiction book, a collection of 15 short stories
written by a friend Diana Kemp
that she will call "Dystopic Visions"
This is the synopsis
Consider the eclipse
In the fleeting moments of its dark embrace
occurs a phenomenon eliciting the awe and terror of
countless generations. It is an event of rare significance
quick and profound. Like an eclipse events or actions
can also be quick and profound conjuring in some
releasing in others, the darkness lurking in the soul
From the homeworld to the most distant galaxies
the universal drama finds no shortage of players...
Because there are so many images
16 of them to be exact, I have
decided to split up the art and story outlines
on to three pages, so that each page loads faster

The Alternate Universe of Diana Kemp-Jones

It's said that some people have their heads in the clouds.
In the case of
science fiction author, Diana Kemp-Jones,
her head can be found beyond this
world into the realm
of stars somewhere to the left of Alpha Centauri.
Born in Toronto, Canada, to a British father and Greek Cypriot mother,
Diana
was an imaginative only-child prone to creating fantasy worlds
. In early
elementary school, her talent for writing materialized
in the guise of
gruesome short stories such as the
Goushy Green Eyeball. Inspired by the
original Star Trek series,
her love for science fiction later displayed
itself in epic length stories
for her English composition class.
Though Diana's family emigrated to the US when she was
a young girl, a
passion for travel took her to Canada,
Britain, Scotland, France, Greece,
Cyprus and Israel during and after
her college years. She eventually moved to
England where she lived
and worked for several years. A course with the
London School of Journalism rekindled her long simmering
interest in writing
and prompted her to purchase her first,
primitive word processor. Having
explored and subsequently
discarded the realm of more traditional jobs, she
returned to the States
and devoted herself to pursuing her true path as a
writer.
An admitted eccentric, Diana is an ardent swimmer,
animal lover and fan of
ethnic cuisine. Her surroundings are
a rather bizarre mix of Art Deco, modern
and Southwestern
generously interspersed with chaos and clutter. Glow in the
dark stars
vie with Star Trek memorabilia. Books spill from cabinets onto the
floor. A telescope lurks in the office closet.
"I've been told by some that they think I'm not from this world,"
says Diana
with a wry smile. "They may have a point.
I never did fit into the normal
scheme of things."
