Poetry by Jim Nasium

They say one picture is worth 1000 words, I think that's the main reason I like to show some of my art with a poem I wrote
I hope you enjoy this new poem I call

I'll Never Forget Her Or Her Plan

"Aren't ya ready yet"
she shouted out to me
as I stood there on the beach
just looking out to sea
I didn't want to leave the island
something just didn't feel right
she called to me again from the small boat
in the wee hours of the full moons night

The men she hired to load the big boat
had left the beach an hour ago
they were now bought and paid for
they're the only others to know
what it was she had on her mind
and where she'd sail off to
if her plan worked she'd be very rich
but if it didn't she'd be very blue

The men took the small boat back and forth
13 times under the full moons light
they packed the yacht's cargo hold with stuff
packed it real nice and tight
the ship was finally loaded
she was standing there calling to be
I knew if she made it all the through
just how rich she'd be

"Come on we need to get going
I want to catch the tide
get your bag and come aboard
lets take a chance and ride
wind that'll take us to freedom
I want to share this all with you"
I stood there looking at her
I didn't know what to do

She came ashore and held my arms
looked me straight in the eye
she said "you know if you get caught
they throw you in a cell till you die
you need to make up your mind
please get your bag and coat
let's get going right away
get your ass on the boat"

I stood there looking at her
her eyes a million miles deep
I told her that I love her
she finally started to weep
I told her that "I couldn't leave
after all I had the hotel"
she said "ok be that way
you can go to hell"

She took my hand and pulled me
slowly to the edge of the beach
her small boat and much treasure
was right there in my reach
I pulled back till she let go
then she got aboard and said
"I will never forget you and honestly
you're the best I ever had in bed"

"I have to leave right now" she said
as she slowly pulled away
the last thing I heard her say was
"I want to see you again some day"
I watched her tied the small boat to her yacht
climbed aboard and then sail away
I stood on the beach with a tear in my eye
I'll never forget her or her plan...
