An Easy Way Out: A Story Poem
An Easy Way Out by Jim Nasium
Every day things just get worst for him he just don't know what to do he's tried everything he knows to help him make it through "love from friends and family just ain't enough" he said he knew an easy way out of it all problem was he's have to be dead...
He sits up in his studio just looking at the wall waiting for an answer but no answer comes at all not sure if it's the right thing but it seems like the best thing to do he'll take the easy way out if you were him, so would you...
He puts on his best summer suit takes a cab to the bad side of town he knows a little place he can go the owner don't mind him coming round the place was once a laboratory
now's it's a shooting gallery a place to go when deep inside you know there's only way way to break free
He rents a small back room there's some pictures on the wall he reaches in the drawer for a needle he takes the biggest one he saw he dumps a pile of powder in a spoon with water waiting cooks it up until it's clear he's tired of hesitating...
he draws the clear hot liquid up in the needle he holds in his hand then he dumps some coke on the spoon more than enough to kill a man he lets it melt then he draws it up in his needle full of slam he'll take a speed ball straight to hell even though no one will understand
He takes a good look at the needle that's he's holding in his shaking hand suddenly his dead friends are there with him this wasn't part of the plan all his old buddies who passed away before him over the years from OD's were standing around him quietly they were where he wanted to be...
