This Is An Adventure Story Poems
I hope you enjoy this new poem I call
Somethings Going To Happen Soon
Darker than any Amazon night I've seen
too silent to be out here alone
I walk along the jungle foot path
where all my seeds are sown
I wonder why I hear no sounds
in the jungle like I normally do
something's going to happen soon
I can feel it I'm telling you
There's no stars up in the sky
the moon has faded away
it's been damp and over cast
there was no sun again today
this isn't how it's supposed to be
I wonder what's gone wrong
something's going to happen soon
and I know it won't be long
The river seem to flow slower
the fruit on the trees is dried
nothing seems to be going right
it makes me want to hide
but something tells me I can't hide
from what's coming this way
something going to happen soon
it could happen any day
The earth spirit is unhappy
men have cut down her trees
they've sucked her of her oil
despite the Indians plea
they strip mined her for gold
emeralds and silver too
something going to happen soon
and I don't know what to do
Rubber trees are scared now
there are mountains of nasty trash
the white men who came down here
gave the local Indians a rash
thing aren't right I can feel it
what more can I say
something's going to happen soon
and it could happen today...
