Cross Legged On The Floor

Over on the bad side'a town
there is an industrial park
it's not as busy as it used to be
but it's no place to go when it's dark
a river runs behind the place
that I had gone to see
if things go as I want them to
this building will belong to me

I want this old brick building
it could be my home
I want to buy the place
so I can be alone
it has a freight elevator
windows that don't open any more
the man said he would be here soon
I was waiting for a knock on the door

I sat there for a few hours
then drifted off in a dream
nothing was the same anymore
as it once used to seem
it was as if I was floating
I'll never come down any more
as I sat there silently
cross legged on the floor
