Angels Sang Hallelujah

you asked me to show you where I go
when I'm walking the streets at night
so I took you to a little church
all a glow from candle light

we walked up to the alter
no one else was in the place
I dropped to my knees and started to pray
for Gods forgiving grace

and angels sang hallelujah
halle hallelujah
angels sang hallelujah
and their song cut right thru ya...

You turned to me silently
dropped down on your knees
clasped your hands together
and prayed "Dear Lord Please"

"I know I am a sinner
maybe even a fool
but if you could forgive me
every thing would be cool"

and angels sang hallelujah
halle hallelujah
angels sang hallelujah
and their song it cut right thru ya...

we knelt there together for awhile
we were silent as could be
felt someone there with us
but there was no one to see

a hand touch my shoulder
you felt the same thing too
we knew our prayers were answered
our lives became brand new

and angels sang hallelujah
halle hallelujah
angels sang hallelujah
and their song cut right thru ya

we left the church together
never have been the same
we take life more serious now
knowing it's not a game

we take time to help a stranger
be kind and always fair
we knew some one had touched us
even though no one was there

and angels sang hallelujah
halle hallelujah
angels sang hallelujah
and their song cut right thru ya...
