Stuck In The Doorway

He's stuck there in the doorway
looking around at all he's got
standing there alone waiting
for something, but he don't know what

As he stands in the doorway
his life flashes through his head
the hour is getting late
he should be asleep in bed

A part of him wants to leave
his home and stuff behind
take a chance and walk away
not knowing what he would find

There's still a small part of him
who'd really rather stay
after all this is his home
he's been stuck in the doorway all day

The hours go by slowly
from dawn to evenings moon light
he stands alone in the doorway
thinking everything's going to be alright

One day soon he'll realize
there's nothing left to do
but walk through the doorway
get far away from you

He knows the world is waiting
there's so much out there to do
maybe he could find himself
if he'd only try something new

He claims he knows the secret
take it one day at a time
a journey starts with the first step
being afraid is not a crime

He's stuck in the door way
not knowing what to do
