When I Had Her
When I had her I didn't want her
I didn't want to be tied down
I just wanted to be free
there were so many other women around
wanted my cake and wanted to eat it too
didn't know what I had
now she's gone and it's too late
any wonder I'm so sad
When I had her I didn't want her
back then she wanted to marry me
said we need to get a home of our own
and that we'd be very happy
she wanted to have some children
raise a nice size family
but I wanted to run around
I just wanted to be free
When I had her I didn't need her
I had all I wanted and more
I could always go down the way
get some coke and a twenty dollar whore
who needed to have just one woman
who wanted a house and children
but if I had the chance right now
I start all over with her again
