Can't You See
If I told you I wasn't ready
for your love when you wanted me so
would you try to understand that
I never wanted to see you go
I always thought you would wait
till I made up my mind about you
but it turns out I was wrong
now there's nothing I can do
Can't you see I wasn't ready
to get involved and settle down
didn't you know I was into going
out all night to the bad side of town
hanging out with the street people
in a dark basement crack room
couldn't ya see I wasn't ready
but now my love is in bloom
Can't you see I'm ready for you
I want you very bad
I'm not to proud to admit
you were the best woman I ever had
I knew how much you loved me
it was plain to see in your eye
now that you're no where to be found
all I do is sit around and cry
Can't you see I want you badly
my word is empty with out you
I swear to god this is the truth
I don't do what I used to do
I'm sober now and I like it
but I miss you way too much
I long to look in your eye
hear your voice and feel your touch
